DAY ONE

 

Arrival at Airport

in Kampala.

Arriving at the airport you will be warmly welcomed by a Churchill Safaris representative, and transferred to your hotel in Kampala. An optional tour of Kampala and the surrounding areas can be arranged for interested parties if time permits.

DAY TWO

Kampala-Kibale National forest.

approx-6 hours.

Today you depart Kampala for Kibale National Forest for two nights. Kibale is the large block of rain forest in Uganda and home to over thirteen primate species including chimpanzees, red colobus, and L’Hoest monkeys. Kibale National Forest has also recorded over 355 bird species, and a range of other mammals including the elusive forest elephant.
The next morning go for Chimpanzee tracking along the network of forest trails. Seeing habituated chimps squabbling and swinging from the trees is an exhilarating experience. Later in the afternoon you will have the opportunity to visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, which is rich in bird species, vegetation, and wildlife. This is also a great opportunity to support local tourism initiatives which benefit social and economic development in the area.”]

DAY FOUR AND FIVE

Kibale-Queen Elizabeth National park.

Today you depart for two nights to Queen Elizabeth National Park, which boasts one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any game park or reserve in the world. From open Savannah to rain forest, Queen Elizabeth has over one hundred mammal species, and an astounding 606 bird species, making it a premier safari destination. Arrive in the park in the afternoon, and go for a game drive in the early evening. The following morning you will have a game drive to the Kisenyi area to look for lion prides and other wildlife like the Uganda Kob, before returning to the Lodge for breakfast. In the afternoon take a cruise along the Kazinga Channel, home to one of the largest concentrations of hippopotamus, as well as herds of elephants, buffalo, and other wildlife that come to drink from the river. The Kazinga also attracts a tremendous variety of bird species including the African Eagle, Open-Billed Stork, and Pied Kingfishers.

DAY SIX

Queen Elizabeth park- L.Mburo National park.

approx- 3 hours.

This morning you will go for chimp tracking in Kyambura Gorge and later continue your safari and spend the night at Lake Mburo National Park Lodge. Lake Mburo is an extension of the Tanzanian Plains and has distinctly different fauna compared to other Ugandan parks. It is the best place in the country to see Eland Antelope, Zebra, Topi, Impala, and Acacia. The five lakes within the park attract hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of water birds, while fringing swamps hide black and yellow papyrus gonalek. Arriving in the park for lunch, you can then partake in a boat trip, game drive, walking safari, horseback safari, or just relax at the lodge.”]

DAY SEVEN

L.Mburo park- Kampala

After breakfast, have a game drive and then proceed to Kampala having a stop to look at the Royal Drum makers, the Equator line – where you will be able to stand and be on both hemispheres simultaneously, arriving in Entebbe in the evening.”]

DAY EIGHT

Kampala- Entebbe for 

return Flight back home.

After breakfast you will head to Entebbe pier to go to visit Ngamba Island. Created in 1997 Ngamba Island provides a home for orphaned chimps to live out their lives in a safe and secure environment, as return to the wild is not possible. You can come to the island to watch the chimps feed, play, and interact with each other. Ngamba also offers visitors the rare opportunity to go on a forest walk with several habituated baby chimps. This experience is incomparable as you will get to hold and play with these incredible animals. All proceeds go towards protecting chimpanzees in Uganda and promoting conversations efforts.
